A very energetic and bouncy Avril played a small, intimate set at 2DayFM after a few interviews beforehand.
I loved this set - I just wish she'd incorporate some of the other album's songs instead of playing the exact same ones.
Oh well. UMS promo was the exact same way, basically at least with the mall tour). Don't remember about TBDT at the moment.

The big difference in promo tours, is that unlike this one, for UMS and TBDT Av had done long concerts by this point. Not as full as regular tour concerts, but still fairly long sets, playing many new songs in each.
For example, fat the end of her second month of UMS promo, in May of 2004 at Much Music, Avril played 13 songs, of which 8 were brand new (the album had only been out for 2 weeks at that time).
For example, Avril played a long concert for her very first TBDT promo appearance. Two months before the album was released, she played the CBC show, at which she performed 14 songs, of which 7 were new. That show would air two weeks before the CD even was released.
As we know, over three months into this promo, Avril has yet to play a set longer than six songs.
...For an album of which she has said she is so personally proud of, having written nearly half of it alone. An album with songs more personal to her than ever before. An album she'd fought to protect against her record company for nearly a year.
Then when Av finally gets to go out and do promo, she only performs one song from the originally planned album, and none of the ones she wrote alone.
Who's calling the shots here? Still?
One thing I will say: I think Av is really into performing two songs that were not on the originally planned album: Smile and WYWH. Hell, about WYWH she even says, ''I like this song a lot." They are more recent and fresher than the songs off the original GL. And they are not about the guy she just divorced, they are about her current boyfriend.
I read just at Bandaids, in a comment on this set, someone said WYWH was 'obviously about Deryck.' No one there responded to it. If I gave a shit about GL, I felt like saying, 'Are you high?' If you didn't know already before, now you should. 1), Brody was not in Oz. 2), Avril's introduction might as well have been how she felt that very moment about it: 'Oh, how I miss you, B!'
She doesn't miss Deryck. She divorced him. Cause he wouldn't shut the fuck up!
Besides, Avril wrote WYWH and Smile last June, a few months after finalizing the divorce with Deryck, and a few months after getting hot and heavy with Brody. A month after she had declared her love for Brody on Twitter. She wrote WYWH when she was away in Sweden, missing B not D.
Just saying.
