I am proud and pleased to present finally the debut here at Avril-Media of "Losing Grip." Losing Grip was the fourth single released from Avrils first album, "Let Go." She said at the time it was her favorite, the most personal song off the album.
Let Go was released April Fools of 03, and was certified gold, September 22, 2003. It reached #22 on the UK Top 75, #20 Australia Top 50, #19 USA Top 200 Singles Sales (Soundscan), #18 Ireland Top 50, #8 Dutch Top 40, and #3 World Chart Show (worldwide airplay). Losing Grip was nominated for the Grammy Award of Best Female Rock Vocal Performance, but lost to "Steve McQueen" by Sheryl Crow.
Losing Grip the video is that of a simulated, live performance. It was filmed at the Angel Orensanz Foundation, an old synagogue turned into a theater/reception hall, on the Lower East Side of New York City. The video was helmed by TV, movie and video director, Liz Friedlander. She went on to direct the video for "Dont Tell Me."
